Open Water Diver
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, this is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.
The course consists of three sections:
1) Knowledge
2) Confined Water Training
3) Open Water Training
The cost of Knowledge and Confined Water Training is $450.
The cost of Open Water Training at Freddy's Lake in Arvada, Aurora Reservoir, or Lake Pueblo is $350.
The cost of Open Water Training at the Blue Hole is $450 plus travel & expenses.
Additionally, here in Colorado EVERY dive is an ALTITUDE DIVE. So, we recommend integrating the Altitude Diver Specialty into your Open Water package. The cost is only an additional $100 and one extra dive. This will not add any days to your Open Water certification in open water (it will still be completed in two days).
Please ask for the Altitude Diver specialty to be included in your Open Water certification package!

Planet Scuba provides a higher quality course, more personalized training, and more of what you came for - the advice, guidance and support of a diving professional while you comfortably, securely enjoy learning to dive.
Our classes are very flexible and can be scheduled at your convenience. All PADI programs are performance based. The course length is approximately 30 hours total. This involves going through the interactive e-learning program (in the comfort of your own home or work environment), answering the Knowledge reviews at the end of each module, attending a review gear familiarization session and then participating in two instructional sessions in the Castle Rock Recreation Center heated pool or the Cheyenne Mountain High School pool in Colorado Springs. During these dives you will learn the skills needed to dive with competence and confidence. At the end of this part of the program you will have earned your certification as a confined water diver.
Your next step is 4 open water dives. We would love for you to join us for a trip to the Blue Hole in New Mexico or the Crater in Utah to complete your Open Water Diver Certification. Alternatively, we can provide a referral to the remote dive center of your choice to complete your certification on vacation.
If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
For your personal comfort, we recommended students have their own mask, snorkel, fins, and booties. If you do not have these items already they can be supplied to you - but you are encouraged to purchase these items. Students (currently enrolled in class) will receive a discount on all purchases.
